"Perhaps what's happened to us was always meant to be."

FLUX  is an original surreal horror adventure game created using RPG Maker 2003. It is chiefly inspired by the RPG cult classics Yume Nikki and its fangames, The Witch’s House, and the Crooked Man. It is also inspired by medical and psychological horror fictions, metaphysics, and dreams. Story presentation is also inspired by the film techniques and styles of Guillermo del Toro, Quentin Tarantino, and Satoshi Kon.

Premise Edit

In a world not too different from ours, psychologists can now use machines as tools for interventions and treatment. One machine, called the Panacea, enables the user to delve into the patient’s mind to survey a surreal recreation of their life and reach a diagnosis.

Using this machine, you play as Dr. Maria Evangeline Algundy, diagnosing Ofc. Nima Chuutou, a police officer on leave because of her unhealthy coping methods such as drinking excessively, and nightmares. Her mental wellness has been declining since witnessing her partner being killed in action.

Exploring Nima’s not-too-friendly subconscious, you will have to piece together the factors of her mental health problems and reach the most suitable diagnosis.

What diagnosis will you give her?
